Abstract: How the consumer can be fooled into believing in fake websites. The way phishing and spear phishing attacks continue to lead people to fake sites. The number of sites selling counterfeited brands and how to tell. A practical demonstration of a free tool (SOLID Authentication) that will tell you that web sites are authentic, warn you when they are not, and redirect you to the real site. The technology also gives a safe shopping environment. How the technology works and how to get it for free.
Bio: Rod is the Managing Director of First Cyber Security Limited, established in 2004, a privately funded British company specialising in Internet security and brand protection. He is one of the original inventors of the security technology that is the basis of the SOLID Authentication® product. He has many years’ experience in developing and marketing IT solutions in a wide variety of markets. He has a BSc in Physics from the University of East Anglia.
